CORIGLIANO-ROSSANO – Yesterday – Wednesday 18 January 2023 – the Canteen Commission took office in an atmosphere of serene cooperation, chaired by the councilor for education, Alessia Alboresi. In attendance were the members of the Council’s Personal Services Commission: Cesare Sapia, Liliana Zangaro, Adele Olivo, Raffaele Vulcano and the adviser Francesco Madeo by delegation of the councilor Anthony Cassano.
“The meeting – reads the note – was held in the presence of the municipal service managers, the municipal manager Tina De Rosis, the Sian Asp service managers of Cosenza, doctors Perri and Scarcella, the representatives of the Scamar company, the parents and designated teachers. Some proposals have been formulated which, as already solicited by the competent Council Commission, have in part already been implemented and in part will be soon”.
«Transparency, seasonality, variety and territoriality of the food are characteristics that the tender specifications contemplate on the basis of precise political guidelines which it is in the interest of the municipal administration to translate concretely to guarantee users, a service whose complexity requires joint efforts and alliances between citizens, the municipal administration, the Asp hygiene service, the canteen commission and above all the educational institutions which are the main and most attentive antennas with respect to the quality of the service rendered”.
«The programming of this service – continues the note – required an important commitment on the part of the municipal administration, which has tried to identify suitable tools to guarantee equal access and widespread participation by all the pupils who attend our schools. A journey that began with the drastic reduction of tariffs and that with the improvement of the food products offered and which, thanks to the new resources allocated, it will be possible to perfect, the products that our children consume come to a large extent from companies that reflect the criterion of territoriality, from eggs to meat, from extra virgin olive oil to pasta, from vegetables to fruit, a dessert also supplied by a local company will soon be introduced. In the meantime, the service continues to register significant numbers, in just 43 days of lunch 75,908 meals were provided, for a total of around 2,800 subscribers».
