What to do for Epiphany? Here are the best events in the area.
STAND UP COMEDY IN HORSE RIDING
Five irreverent and very good comedians. “Merry Comedy”, with free admission, is Friday 6 January at 21 at the Cavallerizza del Castello di Vigevano. It will be a stand-up comedy: as is done in America, the protagonists will stand in front of a microphone. Lack of staging for guaranteed laughs, why Mario Raz (as presenter and artistic director), Laura Formenti, Daniel Gattano, Francesco Miletus and Carmine Del Grosso they are among the best in the sector in Italy.
“Comedy aimed at a mature audience, and not recommended for children under 16”. «The objective – explains Mario Raz – is to continue to propose these events in future exhibitions organized by the Municipality of Vigevano, if it deems it appropriate to involve us, both elsewhere, such as in the teahouse where it all began. Five years ago they were very fun evenings, with 20 people. Now there are 200 spectators, and only because there are no more. We believe that to fully enjoy the show you need to be an adult: fortunately we see people of all ages, even very mature. Stand-up is establishing itself here too».
THE PROTAGONISTS
Francesco Miletus, born in Calabria in 1993, began performing in 2016 in Milan. Recently he is working as an author at the Press Conference on RaiPlay. Usually these presentations end with a joke, but this one, as you will understand in a few seconds, no.
Carmine Del Grosso, Benevento. He is still uncensored. Comedian, author and radio announcer. His mother decides to name him after a character from Gomorrah, but his life is in stark contrast to his name. Precise, punctual, a good person who always says hello. From 2013 to 2015 he won several national comedy awards.
Daniel Gattano was born and escaped from Verbania, beautiful but will not live there. He made his debut as a comedian at “Colorado” (Italia1). Despite his drift as a comedian, he got off to a good start by attending serious theater schools (Stabile in Genoa and Galante Garrone in Bologna) but Peter Stein never noticed him. He hopes to win a Telegatto and to be interviewed by Lilli Gruber. If he lives he will see. His is “satire on homosexuals made by a homosexual”.
Laura Formenti she is one of the few female stand-up comedians in Italy. After a period in Zelig and Colorado, Laura divides herself between live shows in clubs all over Italy and Comedy Central TV programs without forgetting social media where she posts her sketches of her. The topics of her show “Per Puro Caos” (written in collaboration with Giuseppe Della Misericordia) are different: from sex seen by women to the family, from school education to gender differences. «You may have also seen me in some TV shows such as Colorado, Stand Up Comedy, Natural Born Comedian or Afternoon 5, but my favorite has always been the live show».
“Merry Comedy” of 6 January is part, as the last appointment, of the review set up by the Municipality of Vigevano “Christmas under the tower 2022”. The show is organized by the Greenwood cultural association. Free admission, reservations required on 370.7040209.
