Remembrance Day: the initiatives in Faenza

The Administration and the Anti-Fascist Committee for Democracy and Freedom of the Municipality of Faenza, in collaboration with schools, cultural institutes and local associations, organize a series of appointments and events on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance.

For several years, Faenza has been trying to make the memory of this day come alive with the greatest possible emotional, civic and cultural participation. This is done because the date is a symbol and as such it must be treated with great care. It is essential, in order to build and continue to update European civilization, to reflect on the traces of history, to read those traces and to ensure that that reading helps in the civil construction process of Europe, Italy and Faenza itself. even in this moment of war on our borders we are witnessing phenomena of aggression against different cultures: the only way to act and intervene against these widespread examples of incivility is to work patiently and consistently especially with young people, children and new generations, to tell them how on the contrary the encounter between cultures, knowledge, curiosity, dialogue and confrontation are the basis of any type of mature civilization project.
