As Anthony Humberclaude reminded us this Thursday morning, the International Fantastic Film Festival is always committed to involving young people and bringing the fantastic out of cinemas.
Thus, the Region is once again sponsoring the young jury of the Gérardmer Festival by allowing ten young people from the Grand Est to take part. This year, it is Judith Beauvallet who will be the godmother of the young jury of the Grand Est Region. Specializing in analyzes of female characters in horror films and interviews with actresses and directors of genre films, she is the creator of the YouTube channel “Demoiselles d’Horreur”.
In parallel with the multitude of films screened, several activities are already planned for school children in the Gérardmer sector and several exhibitions will be waiting for you at the Tilleul media library, at the MCL or at the Villa Monplaisir. Of course, the Grimoire, the festival’s literary salon, will be there with around thirty authors present during the week. The fantastic short story competition and the showcase competition are also renewed, and for music lovers, remember that a concert will take place at the Saint Barthélémy church as part of this 30th anniversary. You will find the details of all these appointments on the festival website so you don’t miss anything between two screenings.
We already encourage you not to miss the professional meeting entitled Genre Save the Screen! which will propose to analyze the current place of genre films in the exploitation of French cinemas and to discuss the future of the genre on the screens. In the presence of Manuel Chiche (president of The Jokers Films), François Descraques (director), Marie Alix Fourquenay (head of operations – Grand Est Region), and Arnaud Toussaint (director of Cinés Palace d’Epinal). The meeting will be moderated by Nicolas Colle, journalist at “Ecran Total”.
