The school year for the official sector is close to starting in Colombia. In the case of Cúcuta, the capital of Norte de Santander, classes begin next Monday, January 23.

From the Secretary of Education of Cúcuta they invite parents of minors who have not yet enrolled in this 2023 to do so in the coming days.
According to the local newspaper ‘La Opinión’, the North Santander Department of Education is preparing to launch the “Enrolment in the Park” strategy in the coming days. This, in order to recover the nearly 6,000 students who dropped out during 2022 throughout the department.

‘La Opinion’ mentions that there are 49 schools in the official sector of Cúcuta that still have quotas. To access them, you can consult the city’s Secretary of Education.
Also, says the newspaper, the Secretary of Education of Norte de Santander reported that there are still about 20,674 places available in the 39 municipalities (not including Cúcuta) of the department.
